McCain® Harvest SplendourTM Potato and Carrot Medley

Harvest SplendourTM Potato and Carrot Medley combines nourishing vegetables including carrots, red peppers and red onions, with tasty potatoes and savoury seasoning to create a perfect addition to any family meal.

At McCain, our recipe is simple:

Each medley is a mouth-watering combination of 100% real potatoes and vegetables paired with simple ingredients including a carefully selected blend of herbs and seasonings, just like you would make it at home.  They’re also trans fat-free, low in fat and have no artificial colours or flavours, so you can feel good about serving them to the entire family. Ingredients: 

Specially selected potatoes, carrots, red peppers, red onions, canola oil, dehydrated roasted garlic, sugar, sea salt, spices, dehydrated onion, black pepper, herbs, sodium phosphate(to retain natural colour).

Skillet  

Medium-High

10-14 minutes
Stir occasionally
       
Oven  

Preheat
400°F / 204°C

20-25 minutes
Turn halfway through cooking time

Skillet (recommended method):

  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a non-stick frying pan on medium-high.
  • Add the seasoning blend to pan and mix with the oil. Add frozen medley and coat with the seasoning.  
  • Cooking in a single layer, stirr occasionally (about 4-6 times during cooking), and cook until
    a light golden brown colour.  For best results do not over-stir.  
  • If required, adjust cooking temperature to prevent overcooking.  

 

Oven:

  • In a bowl, coat frozen medley with 2 tbsp of oil and the seasoning blend.  
  • Place mixture in a single layer on a non-stick baking sheet and heat for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through cooking time.   
  • For best results,place under the broiler for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking


  
Additional Instructions

  • Product must be fully cooked for food safety and quality.
  • For best results: cook from frozen state using recommended time and temperature.  Cook to desired texture.
  • Always cook to a light golden colour. When using smaller amounts, reduce cooking time. 
  • DO NOT OVERCOOK!
  • NOT RECOMMENDED FOR COOKING IN A MICROWAVE.

Q:   My McCain® potato product was left out of the freezer and has thawed, can I still use them?

A:  No, for food safety, you should not use frozen food products if they have thawed. To prevent food-borne illness, we recommend that you discard  frozen food products that have thawed.

A:  No, McCain® frozen potato products should be kept frozen until you are using them.  For food safety, you should not use frozen food products if they have thawed. To prevent food-borne illness, we recommend that you discard  frozen food products that have thawed.
