McCain It's all good™

What’s for dinner?

It’s an age-old question.  But the more important question is:  What’s in dinner?  And it’s a question Canadians are asking more often.  Eighty-five percent of Canadians are looking for prepared foods that are made with real ingredients they recognize.*  That’s why we’re changing the way we make our products.  We’re using simple and wholesome ingredients like you might have in your own kitchen.

The McCain It’s all good™ journey has started with changes to most of our pizzas, fries and Pizza Pockets® snacks.  And with these changes, our food continues to deliver the great taste your family has come to love.

Is frozen food good food?

Of course. It’s all about the ingredients. And good food, frozen or not, starts with real ingredients. We know that when you look at an ingredient list you want to see familiar ingredients, not ingredients you can’t pronounce.

McCain It’s all good™ means we’re committed to putting ingredients like specially selected potatoes, real cheese, green peppers and vine-ripened tomatoes in our products. And we’re committed to taking out unfamiliar ingredients like sodium stearoyl lactylate or sodium ascorbate. And, if we do use an unfamiliar ingredient, we will tell you what it is and why we use it.

Based on our commitment to simple, wholesome ingredients, most of our pizza, fries, and Pizza Pockets® snack recipes have been rewritten. That’s over 70 recipes. And we’re not stopping there.

Shouldn’t food be the only ingredient in food?

We think so. And this simple notion is taking us on a journey. A journey to ensure that our products are made from real ingredients. The same ingredients you would use yourself. That means good wholesome ingredients like vine-ripened tomatoes and perfectly cured pepperoni are in. And synthetic, simulated and artificial ingredients are out.

We may not get there overnight. But we’re working on it and we’re committed to it. Why? Because it’s not just about the food we make, it’s about what we stand for – real ingredients. So our food really will be all good.

What starts from the ground up?

We do. McCain began over 50 years ago with a simple potato. And, in 1957, the McCain family started their first fry plant in Florenceville, New Brunswick. From fries to a leader in the frozen food industry, McCain Foods has become a Canadian success story with millions of consumers enjoying our products around the world.

Today, with 53 plants globally, including 12 in Canada, McCain is still 100% family owned. We’re proud to be a family business. We’re proud of our humble beginnings – one potato and deep roots in New Brunswick. And we’re proud to be on this new journey.
