Ready to Bake

  1. Place a cookie sheet on middle rack in oven and preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).  A cookie sheet helps even browning of bottom crust and also catches any drippings from the pie.
  2. Remove frozen pie from carton and cut four slits on top crust to permit steam to escape during baking.
  3. Bake on cookie sheet 45-50 minutes at 425°F (220°C) or until the top crust is golden brown all over.  If pie is thawed, reduce baking time by 10 minutes.
  4. Cool baked pie on a cooling rack for 1 ½-2 hours or in a refrigerator for about 1 hour to allow the filling to firm up before cutting.

Special Tips:

  • Oven temperatures may vary.  For best results check pie after 40 minutes.
  • Our tender and flaky pastry is fragile when frozen.  If broken it can be repaired by partially thawing, moistening edges of the crack and pressing together before baking.
