If you're a chocolate lover, you will love this cake! Our new chocolate cake recipe delivers a rich, moist cake that is hard to resist - especially when it is topped with our legendary Deep ’n Delicious® icing! Just thaw and serve for smiles all around!  

Sugar, water, wheat flour, liquid whole egg, soya oil, coconut oil, cocoa, glucose solids, glycerin, rice starch and citrus fibre, mono and diglycerides (to maintain icing texture), milk ingredients, dextrose, ground flaxseed, salt, baking soda, baking powder, natural flavour, agar.

Q: The packaging has changed, what’s different about it?

A:The key new feature of our revamped Deep ‘n Delicious cake and cream pie packaging is the snap-on dome. The dome allows our products to be easily resealed and locks in freshness so they taste just as delicious when you sneak into the freezer for more. In addition, the tray and dome are sturdier and the new graphic design reflects our real ingredient journey.

Q: Are there any animal by-products in McCain desserts?

A: As part of our journey to make products made with real ingredients, we have removed beef gelatin from our classic Deep ‘n Delicious cakes. These cakes, along with the rest of the Deep ‘n Delicious products like cream pies and fruit pies, do not contain animal by-products.

Q: Can I keep my McCain frozen dessert in the refrigerator?

A: Although you can use the refrigerator to store your dessert product while it thaws, we do not encourage the use of a refrigerator for long-term storage as it diminishes the quality of the product. Refrigeration will dry out cakes and will result in melting on the cream pies as they are made using real dairy.

Q: Can you tell me if my McCain dessert is expired or too old to eat?

A: Our classic Deep ‘n Delicious cakes (in Chocolate, Vanilla and Marble) and our fruit pies can be stored in your freezer for up to 1 year from our production date while our new cakes (Carrot, Apple Caramel) are best before 10 months from production. Our new cream pies can be stored for 8 months after the date of production.

Q: What are the natural flavours that you use in some of your dessert products?

A: The natural flavours that we use in our desserts are: vanilla, toffee, coconut. Substances obtained from plant and natural materials and all components are food derived nothing artificial.
